These are before and after images of a patio home in Scottsdale. The worn Kool-Deck was replaced with a saltillo tile patio extension to match the existing pool border. Three column ficus trees were planted at the far end to hide the neighbor's imposing mesquite tree, and shrubs were planted throughout the bed to finish the look.
We gave this property a unique look. We wanted to create a xeriscape with a cool feel. The sections of grass are a small part of the overall landscape but are just enough to give a hint of lushness. The headers and pathway tie everything together.
"You have created a thing of beauty that we will enjoy for years to come. Thank you!"

This client voiced privacy concerns about the newly-constructed multi-level home behind his property. The solution in this case was to construct a ramada with a pitched roof that blocked the view of the client's pool area from the taller home. The roof is slatted, allowing plenty of light through, but pitched in a way that completely obscures the neighbor's view. The water feature and seat walls under the ramada add to the appeal of this structure. The lush landscape surrounding the ramada creates a very cozy oasis in the center of this rear yard.
This client has a creative streak that provided a welcome challenge to one of our designers. The images above show the front courtyard landscape and the unique water feature. We used a black brick patio paver and black flagstone pieces to compliment the modern black water feature. The plant material is still young but will fill in nicely over the next few years as this stunning courtyard matures. The remaining picture is of the area adjacent to the street.
